Ho adocchiato questo paesino dal treno 15 anni fa e ho sempre sognato di ritornarci. È un borgo medioevale sul lago ai piedi delle Alpi con un castello sull'isola. Crescono palme e banani, e nei vicoli, dai balconi in ferro battuto i fiori sbocciano luminosamente. Non m'ero ingannata... tutto era rimasto come allora e come secoli fa: gli affreschi i palazzi le statue...

L'Albergo che mi ospita è bello, completamente rinnovato, dal nome antico Santa Caterina.

L'ideale per me che m'incammino verso la collina o raggiungo in pochi minuti la spiaggetta di Ortello.

Non ricordo di averti detto quanto possa essere piacevole il soggiorno in un piccolo albergo. Mi piacciono i riflessi di primo mattino all'ingresso e il tepore serale del rientro.

Apprezzo in modo particolare la prima colazione. Ogni mattina una piacevole sorpresa!

La mia camera è la 304 al terzo piano. Ha un bel terrazzo, la TV, il telefono. Ho tutta la tranquillità per scriverti... niente mi disturba...


Dependence La Casa Sul Lago : La Casa Sul Lago è un'antica villa di Orta San Giulio che gode di una posizione solare ed unica, inserita com'è tra il verde della collina e le acque del Lago. La recente ristrutturazione ha permesso di creare: bilo/ trilo/ quadrilocali, tutti con balcone o giardino vista lago. Elevati gli standard qualitativi: ascensore, TV Sat, idromassaggio, lavanderia, parcheggio privato a 700 metri, giardino attrezzato circostante ed anche direttamente a lago. Attracco privato (1mt x 4,5mt). A pochi passi il borgo medievale di Orta e l'isola di San Giulio.

I glimpsed this little town from a train window 15 years ago and always dreamed of returning. It's a medieval lakeside resort at the foot of the Alps with a castle on a island...

Palms and banana trees flourish; flowers bloom brightly on wrought-iron balconies in narrow cobbled streets. I was not deceived... All has the same atmosphere as in the ancient times and as during my first wander on the lake: the frescoes, the palaces, the statues....

The Hotel, which gives me hospitality, has been renewed, is nice, with a noble name "Santa Caterina". .

An ideal resort for a wanderer like me who makes his way towards the verdant hills or reaches the little beach of Ortello in few minutes.

I do not remember having told you how pleasant could be the stay in a little hotel. I enjoy those reflections of light on the hall's floor early in the morning and the evening tepidness I find when I come back.

I have taken delight particularly in breakfast: every morning a pleasant surprise!

My bedroom, the 304, is on the third floor. It has a nice balcony and is furnished with a satellit-colour TV and a direct telephone. All around there is a loving peace so that I can write you indisturbed.


La Casa Sul Lago Dependence : La Casa Sul Lago is an old villa of Orta S. Giulio that benefits from its unique and sunny position: it is situated between a green hill and the lake. Recently restored, it offers: 2,3 and 4 room-apartments, all with balcony or garden with lake view. The qualitative standards are good: Lift, TV Sat, bathroom with whirlpool massage, share laundry, private car park at 700 mtr, surrounding garden and one directly on the lake, equipped (pier 1mt x 4,50mt). Close to the House is the medieval town of Orta and the island of S. Giulio.
